We can't believe it has been two years since we were in China picking up Hui-Hui.
We had traveled a week early, taking in Shanghai and Beijing, our last vacation stint as a childless couple. Most of the time we were completely on our own, without guides, taking in the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of the country where our daughter was born. Though Hui-Hui supposedly was coming from a more rural area, the China we toured in was a definite blend of old world and contemporary progress. Was there anything not under construction or renovation in Beijing?? We met up with our travel group, the other families also coming to get their babies, in Beijing and did some group tours of the Forbidden City, Great Wall, Tiannamen Square. By the end of that weekend, we were all pretty ready to stop touring and start parenting!
Our actual "Gotcha Day" Anniversary was on 5/28, but we have been culling over China pictures to put together this little memory video. A great project, to go through all of these pictures and pick ones that would tell the story and also include pics that most have not seen before. We hope you enjoy the video.
We love our Hui-Hui and are shocked at how quickly she is growing and developing now. We are trying to take in and enjoy all growth spurts, new words (some of them...."what did you say??"), splendid made-up song & dance and even scrapped knees. It's all part of this wonderful thing called life.
Hui-Hui will write the next blog, probably about her moving up to the big-girl classroom at daycare, her dance recitals or maybe even her work with mommy in the garden. Until then.....
Thanks for watching, love,
Paul and Cindy
