Lazy, Crazy Days of Summer.....

(From Mommy: apologies for such a lapse in blog posts! Work has consumed me and before I knew it, months have gone by. Fingers crossed that our life will get back "right side up".....)
Hello family and friends! Where do I begin? Since my last blog post in April, I've done a lot of "going" and "growing"! The summer was filled with visits with friends, playing in the water every chance I could get, and ending with a spectacular family vacation in August. Here's the blow-by-blow:

Memorial Day Weekend: We kicked off the summer visiting my dear friend Lea and her mommy and daddy at their home in Portland. It was extra special because it happened to be on our "gotcha day" anniversary - it had been three years since our mommies and daddies came to China to bring us home! We've both grown so much in three years!

3 years ago on Gotcha Day - me on left, Lea on right! So teeny!

Look at us now!

June: 'tis the season for Maine lobster ( pronounced "Lobstah" by Maine-iacs), and while mommy was traveling this month, Daddy and I kept our tradition of picking out, steaming and eating the biggest one we could find. I never thought we'd get a bigger one than we had in 2007, but Daddy outdid himself this year. Check out the claws on this guy!

July: The summer was hot but at least that meant, yah, sprinklers! July also meant parades, playdates and reunions.

Sprinklers!

We had a great fourth of July, attending a local parade, event on the green at Dartmouth College, and watching big fireworks. This year, I wasn't afraid! I am growing up....

The all american girl with her daddy on 4th of July....

My friend Emma turned 5 in July and she had a super fun "circus" party. Everybody got to be their favorite animal, so I was a tiger!

We had our annual China Travel Group reunion and as usual, a blast of a time. In our group shot, I instigated silly poses. That's me, life of the party on the right hand side......

I enjoyed playing outside, including practicing my A-B-Cs on the rocks!

August: What a great ending to the summer! We were gone for most of August, starting out in California to surprise my Auntie Sharon and Uncle Edwin for their birthday. Then we headed to WA and OR to see the beautiful NW, go to the zoo and Children's museums and visit some of mommy and daddy's friends. We had a great time and I'll always remember the nice visits we had with friends.

Then my family met us in Seattle and we all went on a big gigantic cruise boat to Alaska! Por-Por and Goong took us all on the cruise as a way to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Thanks so much, pp&g! It was so fun, I really thought I was in heaven since I got to play with my whole family all the time, watch and hear spectacular singing and dancing shows, and have pizza and stay up late every night! What could be better? And though I was a bit shy at the beginning, I think I was in love with our waiter by the end of the trip......

I did my own tiger face painting at the children's museum in Oregon....

This is Por-Por and Goong's stateroom on the cruise boat, all decorated for their 60th anniversary!

A million pictures to go through from the cruise, so another post just on that.......
Though I'm a bit sad summer is coming to a close, fall is shaping right up! Next post I'll cover my fall visits to Canobie Park and our annual get-together with Lea and her family (and new baby sister, Annie Weiying!) at Storyland!
I love you all and mommy says she's hoping its not months before the next post.
Love,
Hui-Hui
