Happy 2009!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you had a great holiday season. Me, mommy and daddy had a lot of activity (mostly fun) these past few weeks since our last post. We had a nice quiet Thanksgiving at home, I had a successful 3 year old checkup, had my first haircut at a salon and enjoyed two wonderful weeks in California with my family.

In December, I really started to 'talk up a storm' and am curious to always know WHY! My teacher at daycare said my speech was really on its way when she spilled some milk and I yelled across the table, "You made a mess!". Everybody (except Daddy) is being extra careful about what words they say because mommy says I'm just a little sponge. Anyway, I'm having a good time absorbing everything around me.

Thanksgiving
Even though it took daddy (mainly) and mommy all day to make Thanksgiving dinner, I was through eating in about 5 minutes. But what I ate sure was yummy and I loved eating on my Grandma Johnson's pretty dishes. Here's a shot of me and mommy before we had our Thanksgiving meal. We do have a lot to be thankful for.....

I'm a solid little thing.....

said my pediatrician at my 3 year old checkup I weighed in at 30 lbs and 36 inches and the doctor said I was strong and growing well. The appointment was pretty fun except for the lab test....I don't think I'll ever get used to that. Here are some shots of my doctor appointment.

Waiting patiently for the doctor and nurse to arrive.....

The nurse takes my blood pressure with a teeny-tiny cuff...it tickled!

I watch my doctor's every move...

My first salon experience
Just before leaving for vacation, I got to have my hair trimmed at a real salon! While I've never complained, mommy really isn't that expert at cutting hair (there are some evidence pictures that she has never shown anyone!). So, I was actually very excited about getting my hair cut by someone who knew what they were doing. I had fun sitting way up high and looking at myself in the mirror. Here's a little video of me getting my hair cut.

Christmas Vacation in California
We were able to spend two weeks with all of our family in California for vacation. While I liked all the goodies I got for Christmas, the real gift was being able to spend so much time with my Por-Por, Goong, aunties, uncles and cousins. I hated to leave and am already asking mommy and daddy about when we will be seeing family again. My daddy took about 1000 pictures (thank goodness for digital, he says) so here are just a choice few from our trip.

Hi Hui-Hui!
I second Auntie Sharon's sentiments...this is a great, heart-felt blog. And the photo-album really captures our the love funtimes we shared together as a family - your momma and dada are getting to be really good multi-media producers! Can't wait to see you at Easter!

love,
