Springtime fun

The beautiful weather of May has been a real departure from our long and snowy winter and we've taken advantage of it every weekend by getting out for parks, flea markets, creamees (they're back!!), playing in our own yard and even dipping our toes into a creek.

This was our first mother's day and we spent that weekend strolling Keene, NH, a local college town, shopping at Target (mama's comment: "hey, when you live in the country and your Target's an hour away, that's a big deal, ok?"), and eating some special meals at a few (!) of our favorite restaurants. Mama loved the art work and flowers I gave her and all the things Dada gave her.....well, I thought it was that Santa Claus ho-ho-ho thing again! I was Mama's helper and had fun opening all of the presents. Here's a picture of me and Mama on our first mother's day - -

I love my Mama......

We had lunch at our favorite Thai restaurant and even though I resisted the soup at first, I soon realized it was pretty darn good. Here's a whole sequence my Dada took of me discovering my new favorite food, Thai soup, good to the last drop.

I'm a big girl now, drinking without my straw!

Last Saturday was another beautiful sunny day and we decided to hit the road and just see where it took us. Before we left, I was filled with joy just playing on our porch - - I definitely favor spring over winter! Here are some shots of me dancing and playing around before we hit the road.

We're on the road and screeeecch, there's a yard sale with lots of kids stuff! Dada pulls over and Mama jumps out to check it out. Cool, Mama snags a Little Tyke slide for two bucks! Dada and the nice man running the sale work for several minutes to take it apart to fit in the car. Mama picked up a couple of other things but the slide was the big catch of the day. See below for me and my new-old slide.

After the yard sale, the road took us (as it often does!) to a neat antique shop. I surprised Mama when I was walking around the shop and when she said "Just look, no touching" that I clasp my hands behind my back and looked at the antiques with interest! (Mama's comment: "My baby does some amazing things! I never taught her this, she just came up with it on her own.") The old stuff was pretty fun to look at and the shop owner gave me a couple of old ducky toys to have, but the real fun was the creek that was behind the shop. Dada took me down there and I got to tip my toes in the water. Brrrrrrr!

Me and Dada at the creek. The Crocs my Por-Por and Goong gave me worked well in the water (Thanks, PP and GG!).

Though we've been getting out a lot and having fun, I really do love being home too. I love playing in the yard and with my toys inside. Here's a picture of me with my new-old slide and one of me playing inside with my dishes.

Here I go!

My parents are slightly concerned about my meticulous nature and what it means for my future.....check out how I have lined up my trays and plates.....

Well, that's it for now. Watch for a future blog on our 1 year anniversary of our forever family/gotcha day and our visit with Lea and her family in Maine.

Love you all and thanks for watching my blog.
Love,

HH (and MM, DD too)

Hi Hui-Hui -

What a cool slide. I hope you are having fun with it. Isn't it nice that the sun is shining all the time now and you can go outside and play??? When Uncle Edwin & I come in October, we must have a Creamee!!!!!! I'll see you in a couple of weeks.

Love,
Auntie Sharon

Hi Hui-Hui!

You look like you've gotten so big and so grown-up! Ready to dip your toes (and more?) in a Vegas pool?

You look like you're ready to be a good big 'sis' for Aloysius!

See you soon!

Love,
